Little People's Cove Mission: Creating a Child's Special World...

Welcome to Little People’s Cove – Our Story

Hello, I’m Stacey, and I’m so grateful you’re here. Little People’s Cove was born from both a mother’s love and the determination to create something meaningful for children and families.

In 2001, the day before my son’s first birthday, our lives changed forever. He suffered his first seizure while I was getting ready for work. A frantic 911 call and a rush to the hospital revealed a seizure disorder that would lead to years of challenges, including temporary paralysis on one side of his body—sometimes lasting for months. I spent countless days and nights at Children’s Hospital, praying for his recovery while trying to balance my career as a Senior Network Engineer. The strain of being away from my son was overwhelming, and I knew I needed to find a way to be home with my children while still providing for my family.

The Spark That Started It All
One evening, I came across a toy magazine and read about two parents who started their own toy company. That story lit a spark! With my IT and web background, I realized I could create some thing similar—online. In January 2004, Little People’s Cove was born. The name was inspired by my children’s favorite Fisher-Price “Little People” toys, while “Cove” came from their love of the movie Finding Nemo. I worked late into the nights after the kids were asleep,/> building the website while still working full-time during the day.

My goal was simple yet powerful: to provide high-quality sensory, pretend, and educational products for children at the best possible prices. Over the years, I’ve expanded our offerings to include both home and commercial products—perfect for schools, daycares, libraries, medical offices, and other spaces where children learn and play. Every product we offer is carefully chosen to spark imagination, inspire creativity, and help children express themselves to their fullest potential.

A Business Built on Love & Perseverance
In 2005, I made the difficult decision to leave my career to focus on my son’s care and grow Little People’s Cove. During long hospital stays, this business gave me a way to not only provide for my family but also bring joy to others by offering quality toys to families, schools, churches, medical centers, and community programs across the country.

By 2010, thanks to extraordinary neurologists, specialists & therapists, my son’s seizure, Hemiplegia Migraine & AHC episode frequencies had decreased, and he was thriving—playing sports, joining the Unified Special Olympics, and proving his resilience daily. In 2016, we faced another terrifying challenge when he experienced a severe episode that left him paralyzed, in a coma, and went code blue twice. It was the longest ever 3 months of my life, wondering if he will ever wake up, talk or walk again. It took him about 6 months to make a 90% recovery. After advanced genetic testing, we finally had a diagnosis: Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC) with Hemiplegic Migraines. With guidance from experts at Duke University Children’s Hospital and new treatments, he is now living a fuller life with less severe episodes & seizures, but most importantly, has so far remained hospital-free and is able to recover from episodes at home.
